To be wholly responsible for the finance and day to day smooth operations of the business, ensuring it has the best possible working environment with robust and scalable processes through all its functions.

To enable the business to continue its growth, whether organic or through acquisition.

This is a “hands on” role in the rapidly growing prop-tech sector.

Finance:

Form a close working relationship with the Managing Directors, other members of the senior management team, and the Board

Provide leadership to the Board's Finance and Accounting strategy, to optimise the company’s financial performance and strategic position

Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plans, targets and business drivers

Take overall control of the company’s finance and accounting function, leading the finance team

Ensure that company financial systems, policies and controls are robust, compliant and support current activities and future growth

Lead the budgeting processes, ensuring they are carried out and reviewed with relevant parties

Take ultimate responsibility for the company cash management policies

Present monthly management accounts to the Board and prepare annual accounts for shareholders

Corporate finance: manage company policies regarding capital requirements, debt, taxation, equity, disposals and acquisitions, as appropriate.

Establish a high level of credibility and manage strong working relationships with external parties including banks, customers and advisors.

 

Operations:

Have overall responsibility for all matters relating to the smooth and successful operational management of the business

Work with the senior team to develop and maintain scalable processes, reporting structures and working practices throughout all functions

Oversee the human resource management, maintaining best practice in all policies, procedures and practices, including effective performance review processes

Work with department heads to get the best performance from staff

Oversee all landlord relations, and buildings and facilities management, balancing cost-effectiveness with quality of work environment

Be responsible for organisational effectiveness, including:

Ensuring systems are in place for compliance and other regulations

Overseeing operational systems, policies and processes

Owning and driving initiatives that contribute to long-term operational excellence and that establish and enforce organisational standards

Be responsible for any legal or contractual matters, including handling external legal resource, and ensuring that regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met

 

 

People management:

Recruit, train, manage and motivate team members as appropriate

Undertake annual staff reviews, and ongoing informal reviews

Formulate and execute staff development plans

Education and qualifications requirements

 

Degree level education, or another higher education qualification

Qualified member of an accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification
