Our client is a member based International Networking organisation specialising in the Professional Services Industry and they’re looking for their next hire.
The role has three main strands associated with it.
Firstly, you’ll be expected to understand the members within your geographical area, what their needs and requirements are and be able to connect them with other members in the network to promote collaborative working and spreading knowledge and best practice – The aim of this is to ensure your members are getting the best value possible for their annual membership fees.
You’ll also be required to meet with your members either individually or as a group of businesses to establish what more could and should be done by the network, to ensure retention rates are as high as possible.
It will also be your responsibility to win new business and sign ups into the network.
Whilst this may sound like a pure Business Development role, there are significant differences. The organisation don’t follow traditional sales metrics but they do expect the person in post to be keeping abreast of referral business that is being passed between the members within your jurisdiction to qualify the effectiveness of the members presence within the network and to validate your role as an influencer, negotiator and connector of businesses and people. Your Business Development responsibilities will include cold calling to potential new members, keeping social media pages up to date with relevant content and organising and attending trade fairs, seminars and other networking opportunities to continuously grow our client’s network.
You will be based within the UK and be comfortable working autonomously for the majority of the time but would welcome the opportunity to travel within the EMEA region on business as and when required.
The ideal person for this role would be Degree educated, possess a strong work ethic and have a ‘can do, will do’ attitude.
This position would ideally suit an individual holding a position within either an Account Management, Customer Excellence, or Business Development, who is digitally savvy and has a good working knowledge of social media and other online marketing tools. You should also be an analytical and strategic thinker and be able to demonstrate a professional and consultative approach to your work.
